On August 14, 1976, Jonty Skinner became only the second swimmer to smash :50 in the 100 meter freestyle; a world record that lasted until 1981. Now the Associate Head Coach at the University of Alabama, Skinner is applying his analytical mind toward using cutting-edge scientific methods on his Alabama swimmers. In a sport where races are won and lost by hundredths of seconds, Skinner is always searching for new and creative ways to get his swimmers to move faster through the water. A big part of that? KAATSU training. Check out this video to find out more.
Celebrated Australian triathlete Dan Wilson showed there is still “plenty of bark in the old dog” after chalking up another first to win the open class Mooloolaba Triathlon on the Sunshine Coast on March 13th. The 31-year-old from Brisbane, who has a decade-long ITU career, a Commonwealth Games in 2014 and a stirring Noosa victory last year, showed all his silky-smooth triathlon skills in perfect early morning conditions – the Mooloolaba surf showing off it’s ideal glassy half-metre waves at the end of the 1500m swim. Dan is on the Maverick Multisport Pro Team, which exclusively uses RecoveryPump to power their performance and recovery. Congratulations on the cover, Dan - and for your inspiring performances.
